Overview
Someone at your company has started a MedScout MCP trial, which connects data from MedScout to your AI platform. Only a platform owner or admin can add it. You add MedScout once, then each trial user connects with their own trial login.
MedScout is a commercial intelligence platform for medical device and diagnostics companies, built on healthcare claims data, HCP information, and other publicly available data.
Its MCP server lets your AI platform, such as Claude of Copilot, use MedScout data, insights and tools.
Getting Started
Step 1: Check what you need
Owner or admin access to your AI platform, on a plan that supports custom MCP connectors.
The connection details:
Server URL:
https://mcp.medscout.io/mcp
Step 2: Add MedScout to your platform
Find your platform below and follow its setup guide.
Platform | Setup guide |
Claude | |
Microsoft Copilot | |
Gemini | |
ChatGPT |
Step 3: Test the connection
Start a new chat with MedScout turned on.
Ask "What MedScout tools do you have?" A list of tools means it's working.
Step 4: Let your trial users know
Tell them MedScout is ready to use.
Optional: in Claude, set tool permissions to always allow, so users aren't asked to approve every call.
Security Overview
Each user signs in with their own trial login, and any connection can be revoked at any time.
MedScout doesn't log MCP prompts or train models on MCP usage
All MedScout data is de-identified
Hosted on AWS US-East-1 over HTTPS with TLS, with every tool call audit logged
Not data currently in your platform is transmitted back to MedScout, and MedScout cannot see your chats.
For the full security details, see MedScout MCP: Security.
How the connection works
Questions and answers pass through your AI platform. MedScout checks each user's own token before it returns any data, so each user only accesses the data their trial account allows.
Troubleshooting
Issue | Fix |
Users can't find MedScout | Confirm every step is done, including Microsoft 365 approval (Copilot) or Publish to workspace (ChatGPT). |
Gemini users can’t find a place to sign in with MedScout credentials | Gemini will prompt them to sign in when they request data that must be retrieved from MedScout. |
Tools don't load or the connection fails | Check that the server URL ends in |
Copilot agent stuck on "Pending review" | A Microsoft 365 admin needs to approve it in the admin center. |
Users can't sign in | They should use the trial login from their setup email. |
Removing the MedScout MCP: You can remove the MedScout connector, agent, or app from your admin settings at any time.
Still stuck? Reply to the trial setup email or contact [email protected].
