Overview

Scout AI is an AI agent chat built into MedScout that answers questions in plain language using your own MedScout data.

There's no learning curve and nothing to set up. You ask, you get an answer, and every answer comes from the data already in your account. Scout AI also knows the provider profile you're on, so you can keep asking follow-up questions without re-explaining who you’re talking about, and it works the same way on web and mobile.

Getting access

Scout AI will be available to all customers on 9/9/26.

Where you can use it

Both in the MedScout web platform and in the mobile app.

On the web:

On mobile:

Note: Discovery is no longer in the mobile app, as Scout AI is now the best way to search there.

Within a provider profile:

What you can do with Scout AI

  • Find physicians and sites of care

  • Explore provider profiles

  • Build an AI Search

  • Analyze territory and volume

  • Prep for a meeting

  • Draft outreach

  • Plan a route

If you're an admin

Scout AI can handle a lot of administrative work: the things you'd otherwise do by hand or send to your customer success manager.

This includes:

Territories: create, edit, delete, or bulk import.

Targeting: manage code sets, filter sets, encounters, and advanced searches; promote searches to Scout List Strategies.

Strategies: create and assign to teams, where permitted.

Lists and routes: create, update, share/copy lists, optimize routes, and delete.

Field activity / CRM: log or edit activity and update provider status.

The same permissions apply, so you can only do through Scout AI what you can already do in the platform.

How to report an issue

Please use the flag button at the top of the Scout AI window to report any issues with responses, data, or information that look incorrect.

Getting good results

Be specific about geography, procedure, and timeframe.

  • "Knee surgeons in Tampa" gets you a list. "Knee surgeons within 20 miles of Tampa doing more than 40 total knees a year" gets you a call list.

Keep site criteria and provider criteria in separate asks.

  • Something like "spine surgeons doing knee replacements in independent ASCs that are Ascension affiliated" combines the two in a way Scout AI can't work across yet. Ask for the providers, then ask about the sites.

FAQs

Can other people in my org or MedScout see my chats?

No. Chats and prompts with Scout AI are unique to your individual MedScout login.

What data does Scout AI have access to?

Only what you have access to. Scout AI runs on your permissions and your territory, so it won't return data outside your territory and it can't do something you couldn't do yourself today, like create a territory if you don't have that permission. Scout AI also won't look outside the MedScout platform for answers.

What if Scout AI gives an answer that doesn't match what I see elsewhere?

Check that the years you're looking at match in both places. That's usually it. If something keeps looking off, submit an issue from within Scout.

Where did Discovery go on mobile?

Discovery was removed from the mobile app and Scout AI took its place. Ask Scout AI for what you were searching for and you'll get there in fewer taps, with the option to follow up on the results.

How is this different from the MedScout MCP?

Scout AI is inside MedScout. The MedScout MCP brings MedScout data into Claude, where you can combine it with your own files and other tools. Same data, same permissions, two different places to work.
