Time spent doing research is time you are not in front of providers. Scout AI takes that work off your plate, so you spend less time at your desk and more time in front of your accounts.
Every day is different in the life of a medical sales rep, but here are a few ways you can use Scout AI to take actions for you. Customize them as needed!
Before you start
Scout AI is your helpful companion, accessible within the MedScout platform or mobile app. If you open Scout AI while on a provider's profile, it will automatically scope responses to that provider. It is focused solely on your territory.
Step 1: Find the providers to visit today
Checking in on your biggest accounts? Calling on targets for a new product in your bag? Working a new city for the day? Tell Scout AI your plan, and it finds the right providers and saves them to a list you can build a route from later.
Open Scout AI on web or mobile and ask for your top targets from your assigned strategies.
Based on recent activity and typical office days, narrow your search to maximize your opportunities.
To find new accounts, describe the specialty, procedure or codes, geography and any volume minimums. Scout AI turns this into an AI Search and shows you the criteria before it runs.
Save the results to a provider list you can route from in Step 2.
Let Scout AI handle it:
“Who are my top 10 targets in Portland with no activity in the last 30 days?”
“I'm in Dallas today. Can you find the highest prescribers of Dupixent within a 20-mile radius?”
“Find spine surgeons within 25 miles of San Diego doing more than 50 lumbar fusions a year who aren’t on any of my lists."
“Which providers near me should I visit right now, and why?”
Step 2: Get a brief
Before visiting a provider, get a pre-meeting brief so you walk in prepared with all the information you need.
What Scout AI can provide:
Procedure volume and trends, by practice location
Inbound and outbound referrals
Payer mix and reimbursement on your codes
Open Payments: which companies pay them, and for what
Affiliations and GPOs
Provider networks: Connections through medical schools, fellowships, residencies, societies, and more
Let Scout AI handle it:
"I am seeing Dr. Smith tomorrow. What should I lead with?"
"Which device companies have paid Dr. Martinez in the last two years?"
“Can you give me a pre-meeting brief on each provider, focused primarily on their inbound referrals for Transvenous ICD, and their payer mix?"
Step 3: Map and log your visits
Now that you have your provider list and your approach, you can turn it into a route, then log each stop.
Build the route:
Ask Scout AI to build a route from a provider list, your last search, or just the providers nearby.
Scout AI will automatically optimize your route by each provider’s weekly schedule to give you the best chance of seeing them at the right location.
Log the visit: Log your notes after each stop. Scout AI can use this information later when writing emails or reminding you of your account history with that provider.
Let Scout AI handle it:
"Build a route called 'Tuesday - North County' with the top 8 providers from my Q4 list, favoring who's most likely to be in office Tuesday."
"Log an office visit with Dr. Chen today: met the OR manager, wants a demo in November."
Step 4: Send the follow-up
Scout AI can draft emails so you can follow up after your visits. Use your visit notes, product information, or insights straight from MedScout. Review the drafts it provides and send them when you're ready.
Let Scout AI handle it:
"Draft a follow-up to Dr. Chen from today's visit. Mention her total knee volume and offer two dates in November to reconnect.
"Write a short intro email to each provider on my 'Q4 New Targets' list, personalized by their MRI-guided biopsy volume for 2026 so far and their % of medicare advantage patients"
"Turn my notes from today's three visits into follow-up emails thanking them for their time."
